Get this out to all news media immediately! It will help give them reason to update the story! Please specify which direction she was headed. Towards downtown or Beverly Hills on Wilshire?
Thanks for your comments, Ben. We have contacted media outlets and updated the reporters who came out to interview Kirk, here at command center. We do not have the video at this moment. Our search crew took a photo and we don't know if they have the video yet.
FYI: the photo above is Nancy moving Westbound on Wilshire.
We contacted the VIP services person for all of the Caruso properties. Asked them to review security footage and disseminate flyers.
Also contacted ACS security which covers Carthay Circle and some other nearby areas. Sent them the flyer and asked them to disseminate to their drivers.
I would start focusing energy west of wherever this was taken. Keep following the line trying to get more surveillance. We drove up wilshire to century city last night and then around Beverly Hills. She could have made it to Westwood, UCLA, Santa Monica, Venice, etc.
Just heard back from Caruso. They confirmed that all of their security guards have the flyer and they are also coordinating with the on site lapd sub station...
ACS security has it as well and we talked to some drivers who said they would start searching a wider area and looking in bushes etc....
Check her previous residences. I know an Alzheimer's patient who was able to get from a facility in Glendale and all the way to her old apartment in Palms, in her nightgown.

On the website of dbs-Productions [ http://www.dbs-sar.com ] is a paper on wandering behavior of alzheimer's patients. [ https://www.dbs-sar.com/SAR_Research/Wandering_Characteristics.htm ]. The paper states that in their database of wanderings in the Norhern hemisphere, when there is a deviation from a straight line, 78% of the time the deviation is in a southerly direction. This datum may help in prioritizing which business's surveillance videos to view.
Also, there is an organization, NASAR, the Nat'l Assn for Search and Rescue. Has anyone contacted them for advice or assistance?
There is a lot of information here. One of the questions that they ask is: "List all of the subject’s addresses, dwelling types, and how long he has lived at each address going back to childhood. List locations even if they no longer exist. What jobs and occupations did the subject have at each location?"
The "jobs and occupations" made me think, didn't she work in the Marina Del Rey area for ITG ? Has anyone considered driving from LACMA out to her old office in the "straightest line" ? I realize that is a long shot, but the SAR people pretty strongly suggested checking familiar places, no matter how long ago it was.
I live and work close to Wilshire and Fairfax. I've put up some flyers and am on the lookout for her. Is there a FB page for her? It would make it much easier to share and to get the info out to a greater number of people.
And there is another link available from the Fairfax City Council FB that is already FB shareable: https://www.facebook.com/MidCityWest/?fref=nf&pnref=story
Michelle -- if you have any contacts we should follow-up with, that would be appreciated. Better yet, if you can contact them and provide a flyer, it would be VERY helpful. -- Peggy (potsubo@yahoo.com)

Great. We also have SSA security and Park La Brea security supporting our efforts.

ReplyDeleteShe was walking along Wilshire, west of Fairfax.

ReplyDeleteThat could tie in with the reported sighting from Tuesday about the 99 cent store, if it's the one on Wilshire west of Fairfax.
ReplyDeleteI notified the city news service and the Ch 4 people (sounds like you contacted the latter directly) and will pass this on to the LA Times as well
ReplyDeleteThanks, Paul
