A little more from our mountain Search and Rescue Expert

I have contacted a friend who does national work for missing children.  He is trying to find out some things that will also help you.

He gave me some more ideas in the meantime:

The Radius for the search area for this type of walkaway in urban, dry environments is 2.2 miles for 75%.
It is 7.9 miles for 95%.

If you two went there a lot-and maybe followed a familiar route home, then she might have gone that way-any familiar stops on the way home?
(answer from Kirk: We did not go there a lot recently, and I am quite sure she is unfamiliar with the area)

Any more info you can send me about what level of Alzheimers she was at-how confused was she?  Did she always know her name/you?  Does she know where she is at when she is at home?  What was her very favorite place?
(answer from Kirk: Nancy's Alzheimer's is severe and her ability to communicate is very compromised).  She knows my name and can say it.  She knows her name and can say it (although "Paulikas" may not come out very well).  She does know when she is at home and that is her favorite place.)

  1. Off topic, but has anyone reached out to the Daily Breeze to write an article?

I have a friend who is a weekend producer for Channel 5 and sent the info to her. She forwarded it to the station and has no influence when off shift.
