If you are able to help make phone calls or send emails, please let me (Peggy) know at: potsubo@yahoo.com. There are a lot of things that can be done via emails and phone calls. Send me your name, email, phone number and your availability times.
Thanks so much!!!

Peggy, When ready to coordinate, I found this page which could be helpful to divide up tasks:

DeleteHere is another comprehensive list of LA County Hospitals and can be sorted by ER facilities or city names:

Wendy
Peg Griffith and I have been contacting the local hospitals and faxing the flyer to the ERs and Care Coordination Departments. I initially used a Google search for local hospitals. I have not yet compared to this list that Wendy sent. Peg has the updated spreadsheet with our information. I will contact you when I arrive at work today. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAre you guys trying Mental institutions (hospitals) too ? That's where we found my father in law when he got lost like 2 months ago. It was thanks to someone that worked there and saw his flyer on the Offer Up mobile app.
DeleteDo you know if he went to an ER first? It is our understanding that all Does go to ER's first and then are transferred out so we are concentrating on the ER's since they funnel the patient, but if that isn't the case we need to expand.

DeleteNo he got lost in Tijuana, Mexico managed to get across the border without papers that happened on a Saturday night around 8pm walked all the way to like downtown San Diego, was stopped by police for trying to get into a car and business. They noticed he was frantic, very confused and colder manage to tell them their name. So San Diego PD call the ambulance and wad taken straight to a mental institution as a John Doe. My father in law has the same disease that Nancy has.
DeleteHe got lost Saturday night, we weren't aware of him getting lost till Sunday night. He was picked up by PD/Ambulance Sunday night 11pm. My Husband and I started our search in Tijuana, Mexico Sunday midnight till Monday 5am. Social media flyer blast went out Sunday midnight to monday morning. Police report was made Monday mid day and I received a call from someone Tuesday 1am. I called everyone I could think of. Red cross, hospitals, US Consulate, PD, Sheriff's department in my city, etc.
DeleteThank you for telling me the details. I will share the information with the person that works in hospitals and see if the call process should be changed. I am glad your father in law was found safe.

DeleteYes thank you, I hope me sharing the experience we had somewhat helps out. One more thing my father in law mentioned was that no one wanted to give him water but that what he had in mind was that he just wanted to get home.
Deleteplease sent me a task when you have a plan. I can be on the mobile force. I can't make the 930 meeting. I will leave from Orange County by 1030 and my partner is a male so the sketchier areas is fine.
ReplyDeleteGene suggested everyone on the mobile force have a snack and water with them for Nancy.
Root Beer is a preferred drink by Nancy
DeleteVery good idea, S Gee!
ReplyDeleteQuestion: I don't have time to scrutinize the hospital list, but does it include urgent care facilities? That could be another possibility.
ReplyDeleteUrgent care facilities were already discussed and not pursued further as they won't take you without ID and proof of insurance
DeleteBoth lists (thanks for the links Wendy) have been compared and hospitals with ERs have been added to the master list and will be called. Those without ERs will send Jane Doe patients to one of the hospitals we are calling. All hospitals called are being sent a flyer (all but a handful have accepted the flyer and said they will post it).

DeleteWhy haven't the police released the security footage? Can they be asked again? It's going to help get the media to spread the word if it's public.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone checked any libraries in the area?
ReplyDeleteI sent flyers to all libraries within a 10 miles radius of LACMA on Wednesday. Most agreed to put up the flyers.
DeleteLACMA will be doing a big blast on social media today.

ReplyDeletePRN Ambulance has 100+ rigs all over LA and Orange County. The manager will give the most recent flyer (10/21) to all drivers and personnel. It will be posted in the office and every employee must read and sign that they read it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get an assignment so my friend and I are driving down la brea heading towards LACMA. The two McDonald's on la brea has allowed us to post flyers. Also revisited Jim Gillian park area.

ReplyDeleteWould you like me to email the v4 flyer and call UCLA Police Department, or is this redundant?

DeleteThey might not be willing to help, but have you contacted taxi services, Uber, FedEx and UPS? Their drivers cover a ton of area each day and if they could just send them the flyer, maybe they could keep an eye out?
ReplyDeleteUPS and FedEx have been contacted and flyers delivered to their distribution centers to be given out to their drivers. LA County Uber drivers all being sent the flyer.
DeleteI can help Saturday, is there a meeting spot in the morning for assignments?
ReplyDeleteWendy -- please check the blog for assignments for the day. Saturday, there are two groups of sweeps of the area of our most recent sightings. So there is a 7 am group and a 8 am group, both meeting at the Whole Foods (we recommend paying for parking in the north Farmer's Market parking lot).
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU to everyone!! So many people have offered help. I apologize for not getting back to those of you who have offered support. It is often SO busy here at "Manzanita HQ" that I haven't gotten a chance to get back to you. But, we continue to have more and more ideas that require follow-up. So, I hope you'll stay tuned as we get more organized.
