I have thought about Nancy since I first about her story in 2016. I lost my mother to dementia last year, so this break my heart. I have experienced her wander without our knowledge a handful of times. I wanted to suggest that you look into neighboring counties. I talked to a colleague whose uncle had alzheimer's. The uncle wandered and they didn't find him until three years later in a convalescent home in Los Angeles when he was living in Orange County. Is there anything that I can do? I am in Orange County. I am planning to make a post with the flyer of Nancy on my social media pages.
ReplyDeleteThank you for helping to distribute Nancy's information! That is very kind and helpful. We have worked all of the SoCal countiess pretty hard (from Kern down to San Diego) - contacting all of the care facilities in each of these areas. We have also called the Public Guardian and Sheriff of every county in CA, so we have tried to do this sort of outreach. If she was somehow transported to Northern CA or out of state, we have a big challenge in finding her.
